Home saunas are generally preferred in infrared or electric heated models. First of all, the area where the sauna will be built should be determined and the necessary plan should be drawn. Saunas, which can be built in a part of the bathrooms, an empty room or basements in houses, can be enlarged according to the width of the areas. Keeping costs low and saving electricity are the most important goals in home saunas. In home-built saunas, mostly single-row seating/lounging area and equipment/items that are not affected by steam are used.

Saunas are available in both gas and electric heating types. Depending on preference, gas or electric heating, heat-resistant wooden seating/lounging areas, plumbing and lighting are the materials that should be provided when building a sauna.
